Feel freedom to play with the written word and let the letters become images.  Experience the motion of writing even when it is intentionally rendered illegible, and allow space for the reader to create their own interpretation. Besides the usual pens and pencils, we'll write with shells, sticks, and straws and use graphite, ink, watercolor, and mixed media on paper.

Thursdays, November 7 - 21 | 6 – 8:30 pm | $145 - a $40 art supply fee is included and is not refundable if you cancel less than 48 hours in advance of the first class REGISTER HERE

Alix Christian, It's all in the process. "The process thrills me...there are so many aspects to it, it keeps me intrigued." Alix earned her BFA at Pacific NW College of Art in Portland, Oregon, and her MFA at West Texas A&M University. Her work has been exhibited as far south as Texas and New Mexico, north from Minnesota to Michigan, and across the Atlantic in Assisi, Italy. Alix was a professor of Fine Art and Computer Graphics at Amarillo College until she moved to Colorado in 2010. Alix brings her graphic images and love of type to her creative art journaling and large scale water medium paintings along with a passion for working with fire— encaustic art (using pigmented beeswax, tree resin).
