We've all been told that if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all. But how can we express ourselves effectively and empathetically while addressing critical social issues? And what can Jewish wisdom teach us about how gossip affects our relationships, our communities, and our home environment?

November marks the launch of  "Clean Speech Colorado," a new state-wide initiative convening 65 organizations in our community to create a more peaceful and productive community.

Join Sal and Nina Litvak from The Accidental Talmudist to explore clean speech in the home.  How we speak with our partners and our children forms the foundation of how we and our loved ones engage in the world.

Clean Speech Colorado’s Mission:
We envision a strong, unified Jewish community where positivity flourishes and differences don’t divide us.

  • Clean Up Our Discourse
  • Foster Healthy Discussion
  • Unite as One People

Sal was born in Santiago, Chile and moved to New York at age five. He is a graduate of Harvard College, NYU Law, and UCLA Film. His first movie was the Passover comedy and cult hit, When Do We Eat? His most recent film, Saving Lincoln, explores the close friendship between Abraham Lincoln and his bodyguard Ward Hill Lamon. The drama features a new visual style called CineCollage, which places the actors within actual Civil War photographs. Sal wrote both films with his wife, Nina Davidovich Litvak. Sal also speaks and blogs as the Accidental Talmudist. On his AT Facebook page, he produces weekly live shows and shares a daily bit of Jewish wisdom, history, or humor with over a million fans. He is currently developing several movie projects including Guns & Moses, a mystery thriller.

Nina grew up in New York City and graduated from Columbia University. She co-wrote When Do We Eat? and Saving Lincoln. She writes content for and co-manages the vibrant Accidental Talmudist community. Nina’s latest project is Guns & Moses, a thriller about a Chassidic rabbi who must solve a murder.
