Whether looking out your window or strolling through the neighborhood, you can see and hear them everywhere….Birds! Do you know why birds help our environment or how we can help protect them? Do you want to create a bird sanctuary in your own backyard or learn how to spot a specific bird in your area? Get answers to your questions as we learn to care for our Earth & its inhabitants on this special day.

Wake Audubon is a chapter of Audubon NC and of the National Audubon Society. We are located in Wake County, North Carolina (Raleigh and surrounding towns). We have a membership of about 1,500 and hold monthly meetings, field trips, bird walks, and other activities. Wake Audubon’s mission is “to foster knowledge, appreciation, and enjoyment of nature; to encourage responsible environmental stewardship; to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats, for the benefit of humanity and the earth’s biological diversity.”
