[VIRTUAL] Great Big Challah Bake: Baking with the Challah Prince

Date: November 7, 2021
Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Baking challah is a gateway to our memories and to our own stories.  Idan Chabasov, famous on Instagram as the Challah Prince, has an amazing journey to share as he became reconnected to his family, Jewish culture, and the world through challah.  Idan is Sephardic—half-Buchkaran and half-Turkish, born in Israel,
and moved to Berlin in 2014. As part of the Shabbat ritual with his circle of friends in Berlin, he started baking challah every week. His technique for braiding 5, 7 or even 9 strands really took off during lockdown in March of 2020 when he started sharing his videos online with over 63K followers (Instagram: @challahprince).

Join Idan, The Challah Prince, live from Israel on Sunday morning for a virtual demonstration and talk about his journey from Israel to Berlin and back.  We will share Idan's challah recipe in advance if you would like to braid along.  This program will be recorded but only available for registered participants for one week following the program.

The Boulder JCC’s Great Big Challah Bake is presented by the Women of the J.
