[VIRTUAL] The Braid Theater: Sweet Tea & the Southern Jew

Date: January 31, 2022
Time: 8:00 pm

Growing up or living in our southern states, one finds oneself in a legacy of hospitality, good food, and sometimes not quite fitting in with the neighbors. These are stories of struggle, humor, and finding out what it means to be a Jew in the American South.

Through its performances and programming, The Braid empowers artists and audiences to feel pride in Jewish culture while building community and connection between people of all backgrounds. Founded in Santa Monica, California, in 2007, The Braid has affiliates in three cities and counting, holds tours across the country, and is accessible globally via various online platforms.

The Braid's Vision: To leave no Jewish story untold while celebrating the truths that connect us all.

The Braid's Mission: To create, produce and preserve diverse, living Jewish stories that empower individuals, inspire community, and build a cultural legacy.

You will receive a Zoom link a couple of days before the event. Oshman Family JCC is presenting this event.
