Streaming on Eventive

Your one-stop shop for our virtual film festival

We’re making it easy for you to experience the Boulder Jewish Film Festival on demand this year, by hosting all of our films on Eventive. Eventive is an online platform that makes all of our films easily accessible for secure, ticketed viewing by audiences anywhere. Once you create your Eventive account, you can easily manage your personal festival experience as you choose. We look forward to seeing you online this year!


Enjoy the Festival on your TV

Once you buy a pass or purchase a ticket, and create your account on Eventive, it’s time to connect your TV. Here are three easy options:

 

Use HDMI

You can access the Boulder Jewish Film Festival on Eventive, through an internet browser on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. After logging into your Eventive account, select the film you wish to watch and then connect your laptop to your TV via an HDMI cord.

 
 

Use “Cast” or “AirPlay”

Another option for viewing movies on your TV would be casting them from a phone or laptop. For this option, you can use your smartphone or laptop to “Cast” (Google Chromecast) or “AirPlay” (Apple) films to your TV by logging into your Eventive account on your device.

 
 

Watch on the Apple TV and Roku App

Download the Apple TV or Roku Eventive App to watch films with ease. Sign into the app and search ‘Boulder Jewish Film Festival’ within the app. Note: The Eventive app is not available for your smartphone, tablet, or computer.

 

 

Test Your Device Capability

Prior to sitting down to watch any films, we recommend you test your device first to ensure it is compatible with the Eventive platform. To test the compatibility, simply visit the Eventive Device Compatibility page and follow the steps outlined. This test will confirm that:

  • Your device(s) is compatible with Eventive
  • You are able to make a purchase
  • You are receiving confirmation emails once a purchase has been completed

Frequently Asked Festival Questions

How do I create an account?

The movies and talkbacks will be available through an online platform called Eventive. You will use this platform to view the schedule, purchase tickets, and enjoy the films. You will need to create an account with Eventive. The account is free and you can use it with other film festivals across the country that use Eventive. 

First, create your free BJFF account.


How do I watch the programs on my TV?

You can watch on your computer or tablet, but Eventive is also an app you can download to your smart TV. You should test it out in advance of opening night so we can help you if needed. Here are three easy options: 

  • Use the Eventive App on your Roku TV or Apple TV

  • Use “Cast” or “Airplay”
    You can use your smartphone or laptop to “Cast” (Google Chromecast) or “AirPlay” (Apple) films to your TV. Using a Safari or Chrome browser, log into your Eventive account and pull up the movie under MY TICKETS. Click WATCH NOW

  • Watch on your Laptop/Tablet/Phone
    Using a Safari or Chrome browser. More detailed instructions can be found HERE.
  • Connect your Laptop to your TV via an HDMI cord.
    Log into your Eventive account and pull up the movie under MY TICKETS. Plug your HDMI cord into your TV. Change the input of your TV to HDMI. Press play, and enjoy! More detailed instructions can be found HERE.


How do I use my All-Access Pass? 

  • Log into the Virtual BJFF site, powered by Eventive. Open the MY PASSES page, to see your purchase.
  • On the film watch page, click PRE-ORDER to reserve a ticket to the film. (This means the film is not available yet.) 
    Or click UNLOCK to begin your unlock window. 
  • A dropdown menu will appear with an option to use your already purchased festival pass or ticket pack. Choose the festival pass/ticket pack option. Then, click WATCH NOW to start the film. 


How do you use an individual movie ticket?

  • Log into the Virtual BJFF site, powered by Eventive. Find the film you’d like and go to the WATCH PAGE
  • On the film watch page, click PRE-ORDER to reserve a ticket to the film. (This means the film is not available yet.) 
    Or click UNLOCK to begin your unlock window. 
  • A box will appear for you to enter your credit card information to buy a single ticket. Submit your information. Then, click WATCH NOW to start the film.


How do I find my film to start watching?

If you’ve already unlocked the film, visit your Content Library and you should see the film there. You will need to log in first.

If you’re on another device, you can check your email inbox for the order confirmation email and click the WATCH NOW button.

Or, log into your Eventive account and click the MY TICKETS page. This page shows all the tickets you have already purchased. On the right-hand side of the page, there will be a WATCH NOW button.


How do I watch Shorts programs or talkbacks?

The Shorts programs and all talkbacks are considered “livestream” programs. To join these programs simply select the Livestream from the right sidebar and then click “enter Livestream” at the designated time. There is a countdown clock on the Livestream window to let you know when it will start. Livestreams are recorded and made available to ticket holders for the duration of the program availability window. 


How do I watch with Subtitles and Closed Captioning?

All non-English language films will have subtitles that will automatically play as a part of the film program on your device. Not all films have a closed caption feature. Select films offer descriptive Closed Captions for greater accessibility. If a film offers Closed Captions, you will see this message under the film description on the right side of the screening page. To turn on Closed Captioning, begin watching the film and click on the “CC” button on the bottom right of the Video Playback Menu.
