Rachel "Ruchie" Freier won a 10 year term as a judge in NY State and is the first Hasidic woman to hold a position in public office in United States history. She then became an emergency medical technician and established Ezras Nashim, the first female volunteer ambulance service in the orthodox community. Rachel "Ruchie" Freier went to law school in her 30s and had six children.
