Virtual: Business and Public Affairs Update with Mark Wallach & John Tayer

Date: July 29, 2020
Time: 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

As the COVID-19 pandemic affects how we live our lives and do business, we will glean some insight from experts in our community. Boulder City Council member, Mark Wallach, will explain how the City of Boulder is planning to address the needs of our community from residents to employees to business owners to all other stakeholders. Boulder Chamber President, John Tayer, will explain how the Chamber is helping our local business community and give a prospective of what we can expect during these extremely challenging times.

John Tayer leads Boulder's flagship business support and advocacy organization, the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, on behalf of one of the world's most dynamic business communities. After moving to Boulder for law school, John served in policy and public affairs positions with the Boulder City Manager’s Office and the local pharmaceutical company, Roche Colorado (now Corden Pharma).

Mark Wallach, Boulder Council Member, has a long history of participation in politics and public affairs. Back in the day, he conducted voter registration drives as part of his opposition to the Vietnam War and later did the same in support of Charles Evers (brother of slain civil rights leader Medgar Evers), a candidate for Governor in Mississippi. Mark also worked as a speechwriter for U.S. Senator Bill Bradley and other political candidates.
