[VIRTUAL] Parenting in the Time of Climate Crisis

Date: October 27, 2021Time: 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

The responsibilities of parenting are endless. Parenting in a climate crisis adds a layer of complexity that can be hard to navigate and can produce anxiety. This year’s book choice for One Book, One Boulder is All We Can Save, a collection of essays about truth, courage, and solutions for the climate crisis.

In this discussion, we will use a few essays in the book to ground our
discussion and talk with each other about topics like:
Am I preparing my family to be resilient for the future?
Am I raising a climate citizen?
How do I talk to my kids about climate disasters that are already happening?

Essays from All We Can Save to read ahead of the conversation:
“Mothering in the Age of Extinction,” by Amy Westervelt
“Loving in a Vanishing World,” Emily N Johnston
“A Letter to Adults,” by Alexandria Villasenor

A digital copy of the book can be found through the Boulder Public Library.
