What camps are being offered this summer?

Cherryvale Day Camp is offering 5 two-week sessions of our traditional day camp program. Campers will be assigned to bunks (group) with up to 15 campers. We will engage campers in a variety of programs and games including arts and crafts, sports, and farm and nature-based activities with their bunks.

This summer we are also offering several of our specialty camp programs, Farm Camp and Musical with Shari Polis. These programs will also operate under our rules and guidelines and we have found a way to adjust the programming so campers will still get the full experience of the programs. These camps are also two-week sessions. All camps except our Musical with Shari Polis will be held outside as much as possible.

What are the dates and rates for Cherryvale Day Camp Summer 2022?

Please view our dates and rates page for more information.

What is your immunization policy?

Read our complete camp immunization policy here.

What is your policy about campers receiving the COVID-19 vaccination?

Cherryvale Day Camp is a licensed child care program following all of the Boulder JCC’s health and safety protocols based on the latest recommendations and mandates from Boulder County and the State of Colorado.

Based on the latest guidance, we are strongly encouraging (but not requiring at this time) all eligible children to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. You can learn more about the vaccine for ages 5-17, including how to make a vaccine appointment, on the CDPHE website.

Health and safety protocols, including vaccination requirements, are subject to change at any time. We will keep registered families informed of changes to our policies. Because of the evolving nature of health policies, we are committed to a flexible cancellation and refund policy if Cherryvale Day Camp is no longer a fit for your family.

Do my children need to be Jewish to attend any of the Cherryvale Day Camp programs?

No. Families and children of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome.

Do I need to be a member of the Boulder JCC to attend Cherryvale Day Camp?

No. The Boulder JCC does not have a membership program and all are welcome at our Cherryvale Day Camp programs.

Is Cherryvale Day Camp a licensed program?

Yes. We are licensed by the State of Colorado Department of Human Services. We also follow all health guidelines as prescribed by the Boulder County Department of Health.

How long are the camp sessions?

Our summer 2022 sessions will be for two weeks. Check our dates, rates, and policies page for more information.

Can I sign up for just one week of the two-week session?

Maybe, it depends on the bunks and if we have space in the session. Our bunks have a limited capacity so we prioritize campers who can stay for the full two weeks. Contact our Director, Julia Paeglis at, if you are interested in signing up for only one week of our two-week sessions.

This only applies to our traditional Cherryvale Day Camp program and not our specialty camps: Milk and Honey Farm, Jr. Scientist Camp, Get Crafty Camp, and EcoAdventures. These programs require our participants to join us for the full two weeks.

I noticed the Musical with Shari Polis is only one week but I would like to send my child for both weeks during the session. Is that possible?

Yes! We will make sure to have space for any camper who is in the musical for the other week of that session in our Cherryvale Day Camp program. Email Julia Paeglis,, if you would like to enroll for the 2nd week.

Is there a limit to how many sessions I can sign up for?

No, and we welcome you to join us for the entire summer. Since space is limited, we encourage you to apply as early as possible for all sessions you are interested in attending.

What does a day at camp look like?

Each day looks a little bit different for our Cherryvale campers. They will participate in a variety of age-appropriate activities throughout the week

What are bunks and how are they assigned?

Each camper is placed into a group for their two-week session called a ‘bunk’. These bunks are divided by age so we can ensure the programming is age-appropriate. When you apply for camp you can also request friends to be with your camper. We will do our best to accommodate all requests.

What is your food policy?

Boulder JCC programs are kosher-sensitive (no shellfish or pork). We ask you to send nut-free and kosher-sensitive food for your child. We have many campers at the JCC who have life-threatening nut allergies and it is extremely important that everyone follows these guidelines. We appreciate your help in keeping all of our children safe and healthy!

We ask that you pack 2 snacks and lunch for your child.

Do you go on field trips?

Yes! We are in the process of reserving our field trips for the summer and will update you once finalized.

Is there anything special that happens at camp?

Yes! Twice a week each bunk will participate in sprinkler and water games. This is a big hit, especially on very hot days. In addition, campers will have tie-dye sessions and will visit Milk and Honey Farm. This summer we are also looking into bringing special guests like magicians, animal balloon artists, and other fun activities for our campers!

Who are the counselors and staff and how are they trained?

All of our camp staff are at least 18 years old and out of high school. We provide a week-long training in addition to several online training sessions that are required per Colorado State licensing. During the summer, counselors and staff participate in weekly training and daily staff meetings. We are starting to hire summer staff in January 2022. If you know anyone who might be a good fit please direct them to

Counselors are assigned a bunk for each session. If your child is with us for multiple sessions throughout the summer, they may have different counselors each session. Counselors for each bunk will be announced the Wednesday before each session in our prep email.

What’s your counselor-to-camper ratio?

We have a ratio of 2 counselors per bunk and our bunks numbers range from 8 - 15 campers.

What else do I need to know before camp starts?

We send out informational emails each week before the start of camp. In case we don’t address your questions in these emails, give us a call at 303-998-1900. We are happy to help.
