Your Impact

If you had asked us a year ago what 2020 would look like for the Boulder JCC, these past months are not what we would have envisioned. We would have told you that the J was poised to continue on its incredible trajectory, growing at a rapid and inspiring pace. That we would welcome another 40,000 visitors this year, and our dedicated programming team and educators would be seeing all of you each day.
Instead, we were faced with difficult questions. Using our guiding values and the wisdom of Jewish tradition, we grappled with how to sustain our thriving center, how to continue to provide meaningful connections in a virtual world, how to deliver essential services, and how to ensure, above all else, the health and safety of our community and staff. We made hard decisions. And each day, despite the weight of current events, we were inspired by you—our Boulder JCC community.
In addition to the extraordinary support from our Board and many community members, our Jay and Rose Phillips Early Childhood Center families helped offset the financial loss the JCC faced from closing the school by donating more than $80,000 in April and May. Many others stepped forward between April and September to help lead 250 virtual programs with over 3,750 community members in attendance, keeping us all connected. This summer we served over 110 campers with early childhood and elementary-age camps, and this fall are continuing to serve 150 children through our early childhood center. We have hosted blood drives and food drives and become another collection center for homemade masks to be distributed throughout Boulder County.
We write to you today, proud of what our community has accomplished together in the hardest of times, and to share that we are still presented with many challenges. We need your help so that the Boulder JCC can rebuild and become even stronger than before. Please make your 2020 gift today.
Every gift matters. Thank you for your generosity and involvement in our community.
With gratitude and appreciation,
Jonathan Lev, Executive Director
Lee Strongwater, Board President
